McCray404 Basic Brass
Does anyone make a 404 Jeff basic brass, preferably without headstamp?

homebrewerThis ought to be fairly easy to find. So many wildcats are based on it. Finding it without a headstamp may be problematical because federal regulations require cases to identify the cartridge so no dumbshit puts it in a gun that ain't chambered for it-- with predictable results...
Try this. No idea how old this is...

I have 70, new, .404 unformed cases with no head stamp made by Bell. I believe I paid around $2.00 each. Be willing to sell the lot for $125.00 plus shipping. PM me if interested.

homebrewer - I'd like to see a copy of that regulation.

McCray - Try Huntingtons. They used to carry a couple of different brands. But, Roger's offer is probably better than you'll find anywhere. Grab them before he changes his mind.

Well, I may have be taking one regulation to apply to another. When I had my rifle built, my gunsmith told that the caliber had to be noticeably put on the barrel. He said it was federal regulation. I would have to assume the caliber must also be on the head of the cartridge, given how much the government likes to control our guns...

Nope
ATF laws require marking the barrel - no such law for marking the cases

McCrayBartsch, PM sent.
I know the last Hornady basic belted brass I got was un-marked.

eurocentricI own both Hornady and Bell, and both are head-stamped
Quality cartridge can usually come up with whatever brass you want:
