In the older 26th edition of the Hodgdon Manual they listed a batch of cartridges for Silhouette shooting out of handguns. I have often used that data for downloading 308 size cartridges. As I understand this case is based on the 300 Savage case. In this day and age when every thinks they need a mag, I like the velocities and lack of recoil gotten out of these cartridges, particularly in the 6.5/270/7mm range. Anyone every built one of these on a rifle. I was looking real hard at the 270 version, since I already have a 260 Remington; no 7/08 because I own several 7 x 57s instead. Think it would make a nice rifle, with bullets in the 90 to 130 grain class. especially the 90 grains for coyote or a roving varmint rifle. Plus something different, than a lot of other guys have. Half the fun isn't it?? | ||
