FYI the 6.5 R-Bar shot a 10 shot 1" group at 50 yds. today with the 160 grain RN discontinued Hornady. Best yet.Velocity was around 2500 fps. roger

From a light sporter barrel, that's not bad at all.....that thing is fully mule deer ready! I doubt seriously if this equates to a 2" group at 100 yards.....I'd guess more like a 1.5" group but that's simply a guess......and for ten shots.....This is consistant hitting of a 50 cent piece at a football field.....I'll go hunting with that any day!

I didn't know that Hornady had discontinued that bullet but I think woodleigh makes a similar one

IMR-7828 should add 100 FPS for you too! I say this based on reloading data for the 260 Remington

The load of H-4831 was mild. It will take at least another grain and a half or possibly more. The long throat really makes the difference between it and the ,260. If the .260 had as long a throat it would out perform the R-Bar.
