If you must satisfy the erge to improve 8mmX57 performance I recommend the 8mm-06. Improved cartridges often require a lot of fiddling to get good feeding and you gain nothing from a practicle matter for all your work.A well placed shot means far more than the added 35 to 60 feet per second increase in veocity.

During the year of the blue snow an 8mm-06 made some sense because we had a lot of military brass and 8mmx57 brass was not always easy to buy . Yes we made a lot of 8x57 brass from 06 brass. Back than that was not desireable but it wasn't horrible either. Today it just would be a lot of work.

Now if you just want your wild kitty go ahead and have your fun but don't delude yourself that you are going to justify the time ,effort and cost with the increased performance that you get. Ok! So you hit your game at 200yds. 3/4" higher. roger
