The cartridge that I have rechamber to is the 243 Ackley Improved, and the barrel is a Hart 26" 1 in 9" twist. I believe that it should handle 85-100 grain bullets the well. Has any one out there used anything besides IMR4350 with any success in this cartridge with this twist rate and bullet weights.. I'm wondering if RL 19, RL22, or H4831SC maybe the way to go. I like th looks of the Nosler 90-grain Ballistic Tip bullet and believe that the 1 in 9" twist rate should handle it well. I would like to hear what your tests have found.

Sendero, I hae been shooting a Cooper in the 243 AI and find IMR 4064 to be splendid with the 85 grain Berger, Sierra, or Nosler bullets. For the ighter bullets I have had best accuracy with Win 760, velocities have been generally disappointing, though still above .243 standard's. Member NRA, SCI- Life #358 28+ years now! Thank you for the info 308. I'll give the IMR4064 a try. I have some left over from working on a 6MM Walker International Long. The rifle was Mike Walker's personal rifle. The cartridge is realy odd looking. If you would like to see some photos please email me at jads@citlink.net
