Have a chance to buy a 300 WBY necked down to 7 for $750.00. Shilen barrel HS Precision stock. What kind of velocity can I expect out of such a round?

7mm STW is a good guess.

generally a bit more than a STW, it is one nice round.

I've used a 7 Mashburn Super for years, IMO the big 7's are wonderful.

I never did chrono the one I had. Rem 700 leftie that was originally a 7mm mag. I had it rechambered to 7mm/300 wby and it was so flat shooting it was scary.
With 160 Partitions sighted in 3 in high at 100. I would shoot 3 shots at 100, move the target to 200 and fire 3 more, then move it to 300 and fire the remaining 3. All 9 would fit into a 4.5 in circle.
I would guess 3250?

My biggest fear is when I die my wife will sell my guns for what I told her they cost.

Thanks guys, that's pretty much what I expected, somewhere between an STW and Ultra Mag. Think I'll go for it.
