In "Bolt Action Rifles" by Frank de Haas, page 338, he has a good chapter entitled "The Original Newton Turnbolt Action"...He concludes thus: "Hardly anyone who has examined and studied the Newton multi-lug action questions that it is of superior design. By the expenditure of what must have been an untold amount of energy, time, money and perhaps worry, Newton had designed and put together an outstanding high powered sporting rifle and gotten together men and machinery to manufacture it....Anyway, my question is why has not somebody revived the Newton Rifle? Maybe somebody will do just that. And if this is ever done the revival should be complete;action with set-triggers, stock design and in calibers originally designed by Newton to include the .250-3000, .256 Newton,.30 Newton, and .35 Newton." Frank de Haas is a recognized authority & gunsmith. His opinion is noteworthy re. Newton Rifles... Best Regards, Tom | ||
