This discussion of the 375-338 has started me thinking. Which one would you build? I've got a Pre-War (transition) mod 70 in 300 H&H for a future project.

There are two types of people in the world: those that get things done and those who make excuses. There are no others.

I wouldn't do either.

When you consider the 338 Win Mag, the 340 Weatherby, the 358 Norma, the 358 STA, and finally the 375 H&H, I don't see any holes there that can be filled by a Wildcat.

And I wouldn't even consider the 358 Norma or the 358 STA.

The rifle you have in 300 H&H is an awesome rifle, why would you change it?

Well I had to answer a similar question myself. I built a 338WM on a 700 action that was long enough that I could have chambered it in 340WM. I figured that the extra 150 fps wasn't worth the difficulty in locating ammo in a pinch.
