Hi All: This topic reminds me of the Kevin Costner Baseball Movie..."Field of Dreams"... Much has been discussed about the .375 Ruger, probable .416 Ruger...I got into mini-debate about the case being much the same as the "Rifle Mag" saying the .375 Ruger is oh so much as the .35 Newton necked up to .375...although the .35 Newton has a very slightly less case head diameter... Anyhoo...Marc Jamison is set to make New Newton Brass...most wanted in the .30 Newton & .35 Newton. These unbelted cartridges are great for wildcatting as well as original configurations...P.O. Ackley necked the .30 Newton to .270 & 7mm many years back with outstanding results..and the .35 Newton can be necked up to .375 with the same results as the .375 Ruger. In fact, when I talked to Hornady earlier, the question was posed whether I could take .375 Ruger Brass & run it a pass through my .35 Newton die & get .35 Newton cases? The reply was it should work just fine. Also, neck it up to get my .416 Newtons...also no problem. So here you have a major gun company (Ruger) and ammo meister (Hornady)..combining to make .375 Rugers...then Jamison Brass making up the big Newton Brass...is it a perfect storm? One thing for sure, wildcatters & shooters will have it really good! Probably, the factory .375 Ruger will predominate in popularity...but then us wildcatters will have the new Newton Brass on the market too...I suspect the "Legendary" Newtons will still have their appeal...as they are very modern by today's vogue.
