BIG1LOST bringing up that old post got me searching on this cartridge, never even thought about it before! This would be a great alternative to my ultralight, I think. What would be the min length barrel you guys think would be best? Obviously, being an ultralight, the shorter the barrel the better. I was going to go with a 308 but I think the added velocity while still being a short action and not a magnum would give me a bit more punch making this rifle more appropriate for elk if for whatever reason I can't use the 300wby (stuff happens, damn gremlins get into everything at the wrong times)
