I am interested in the 6mm Mach IV and am having trouble getting some info on it. Is anyone using this round or have any or know where to get some info?

Regards,
JASON

Ross Seyfried wrote some articles on this 'cat a while back, he was writning for Guns and Ammo at the time. Basically a 7mm Rem Mag case necked down to 6mm, and improved (if I recall correctly). Mr. Seyfried was looking for 4000 fps with the Barnes 85 gr X bullet, and he got it. I can't remember the barrel length he used, but he used a surplus 20mm powder, I believe. - Dan

My .240 Incinerator is essentially the same round (I unknowingly developed it around the same time as the Mach VI). I've posted a complete article on my website to include load data.

G'day Jason,
Ross Seyfrieds article on the 6mm MACH IV was in
GUNS and AMMO November 1993.Page 46
I am pretty sure you can get photo copies of the article off them.
If no luck E"Mail me at charliebm@hotmail.com.

Good luck,

Charlie

Thanks everyone for the help. I did some more charts on load from a disk and from 3800-4000 fps gives about the same ballistics. I think the 3800 is achievable and maybe higher with a powder like retumbo.
