Wildcatters Natural Shoulder Angle
I was doodling the other day and asked myself, what would the most natural shoulder angle be, for a wildcatter?

This is a practical question.

The natural angle is the angle that will allow someone to neck a case up in diameter, or down in diameter, and maintain the same neck length relative to bore size.

So a .308" case with a .308" length of neck could be necked up to .338" diameter and would have .338" length of neck.
Or one could neck down to .284" and have .284" of neck length.
Etc.
stir

So . . .
a shoulder angle of 26.565 degrees will do the above.

I would call that a Wildcatter's Natural Shoulder Angle. [tan(26.565)=2]

Do any cartridges use this shoulder angle of 26.565 degrees?

Good theory, but the "one caliber neck length" thing is just made up. Many successful cartridges do not follow that "rule".
