I had mine cut to 22.5 inches and it is great for moving around in the willows or alders in the high country.

My .338/06 likes those 210 grn Nosler partitions and also those 225 grn Accubonds. It shoots the partitions at 1.20 MOA at the bench for 100yds. THose Accubonds do real well out at 200 yds with a 2.75 inch group of the bench. Not bad at all for a lightweight hunting rifle that weighs in under 7 pounds.

In its first life mine was a pre 64 fwt 30-06 and had it bored out to 338-06 so it is 22" and comes in all loaded and ready to hunt at just north of 7 1/2 lb in Micky stock. Taken brown bear 250 AFr and seven African game all with one shot kills w/210 TTSX and NWT Moose and Caribou w/225 partition. Superb weapon for all of North American and most of Africa game IMHO.
