popcorn Light weight, deep throated sporter ; well balanced. The .308 RP cases were formed and neck turned. All were loaded with 42.5 grains of h4831, and WLRM primers for fire forming.
There were two different 140 grain bullets,a 129grain bullet and one 120 grain bullet. all shot between 2400 and 2500 fps.were sooty and mild.
  • The PRVI was actually 139 grains 2.932 OAL, was spot on at 200 yds. and yielded a 5 shot group of 3/4" at 50 yds.
  • The 140 grain Sierra HPbt match 2.965 OAL, yielded a 3 shot 2" group at 200 yds.
  • The 129 SST 3.065 OAL, yielded two distinct groupings at 50 yds.1" apart shots 1,2 and 4 in one 1/2" group and shots 3, 5 and 6 in another 1/2" group. Roll EyesSeems to be a good start. beerroger

Obvously needs a bit more powder.

You are getting about the same as I did before I had the gun blued and stock checkered. I'm convinced it'll shoot some rounds under an inch with proper development.

If you have some ballistic tips, I'd like to hear how they shoot.....they might be better than the SSTs I sent!

popcornIt is the .308 case ,or a clone, with the shoulder and body junction the same as the .308 but the shoulder angle at 26.5 Degrees resulting in a longer neck. overall max length is 2.040" so trimming is no problem. the rifle is throated so a 156 grain psp can be seated so the base of the bullet does not go into the powder room. flameroger

Give us your opinion of the Redffield scope you put on that gun. I really liked it when it was here. I hope you like it as well!

coffeeSo far the scope is a real plus ; compact reasonably light and optically clear. A little more usage will paint a better picture, I'm sure. beerroger
