Hi all, I'm going to try and make my own chambering reamer from O-1 drill rod. I'm going to pickup a couple of cheap 8x57 mauser barrels to practice on. I'm thinking of going with something similar to the 3200Hawk. What size do you make your reamer in relation to what you want the chamber to be? Also how much smaller do you make the roughing reamer for makeing a sizeing die?

Go to Clymer and sort through their reamer dimensions. Compare them with the cartridge specs. Someone can tell us what the SAAMI tolerances are, but I think they're as high as .008" or so. [edited for typo - anal, sorry.] [ 09-02-2003, 11:01: Message edited by: Bwana-be ]
