The extent of my wildcatting for 2016 and 2017
I had a 8x57 beautiful custom rifle with a slightly oversize chamber, not unusual with European rifles. I ran a 9.3x62 reamer in it and had a 8x62 and it was a real hammer.

I had another in 9x57 that didn't shoot well so I made a 375x62 out of it and it duplicated my 375 H&H buffalo load! (2510 FPS with a 300 gr. Woodleigh) albeit the 375 H&H would do 2600 plus. But the 375 with a 300 gr. seems to perform better on buffalo than a faster velocity.

In todays world, I think as opposed to trying to come up with a new world beater, the knowledge gained from wildcatting back in the day served us well in the salvation of many fine old guns, but I see wildcatting today as about run its course with me personally.

I do have a custom 6x45 I built in 1980, it was a wildcat then I think, but only almost a wildcat today I think..

Ray I'm not understanding how you ran a 9.3mm reamer in a 8mm bore. Confused

Try to look unimportant. Your enemy might be low on ammo.

Body reamer. No neck/throat cutting section, w/separate neck/throat reamer.

the 8mm-06 has been around awhile, Ray -- "improved" or not ... though recutting the neck and throat for gaining 5mm is a bit of a hassle

there's more than 20% case difference in a 9.3x62 and a 375hh ..

you are running 2500 fps, 300gr bullet in a 375 whelen? Did you mean x64?

That is the clarity needed to eliminate the question...

I wondered if a 375 bore out would clean up a 355
