Looking at the size of the 376 Steyr, it should make for some nice size cats that are not as large as the RUM based ones but still outperform the 06 based ones. I was looking at building a long range rig in either 6.5-06 or 338-06 but then looked at the 376 Steyr and thought .... 338-375 Steyr should pack more than the 338-06 and that gets me some awesome long range capability ... Your thoughts?

Dave J. has one of each made for the encore rifle by OTT. I've got the .338 version coming in a encore pistol w/i a month (I hope). It performs like a midrange .338 WM.

Marty...we put single radius shoulders on ours; L to R 308Win, 260Jnkr, 300Jnkr, 335OTTR Have found the Steyr cases to be fine wildcat vessels. Got the 26" 260 on my frame now. H1000 is showing some promise under the heavier pills. RL-15 was burning very well in the 338 version.

Dave, do you have a website or at least some reloading data, so I could have a look at those? To a Republican every day is 4th of July. To a Democrat every day is April 15th!!

Dave - What type of velocities are you getting with the 260 and the 338? Thanks!

Sorry guys been busy with some pressing issues lately. I will log on from home and post some data. I have pushed the envelope a little with the 335 but am still working up with the 260.

I am still mostly fire-forming brass but have shot a few groups with formed brass. As you can see from the pic we took most of the case taper out. Our cases are .497" at the shoulder. To date I have only worked with the following components in the 335OTTR w/ 22" barrel and removable custom brake: Temps in the 30sF 180 Nolser BTs 58.0 grains RL-15 CCI 250M 2845fps 225 Horn. SST 57.0 grains Varget Fed 210M 2690fps 57.0 grains Rl-15 2638fps 66.0 grains RL-19 2611fps I was working with the 26" 260Jnkr yesterday: Temps in the upper 70sF 120 Nosler BT CCI250M 60.2 grains H-1000 3130fps 60.2 grains RL-22 3272fps with primers just starting to flatten out on the edges. All of the above were with Hornday brass..which you should be able to find for under $20/50pcs. Looks like these wildcats with some detailed load development will be capable of providing mid range WinMag numbers. More to follow.
