Regardless, the longer the barrel, the more umweildy and unbalance the rifle becomes. twenty five to 26 inches is long enough and the Mashburn performs very well in this barrel length range. The STW doesn't and uses more powder and no greater velocity. This isn't a guess---this was proven over an Oehler Cronograph mor that once. No typewriters used here!!!!
