I know it sound funny asking for a reduced load for an improved cartridge, but here is my quandary....

At the bottom end of my rifles I have various 22 rim fires. Next up is my 223 AI, so I’m interested in down loading my 223 AI to something close to 22 Mag velocities using 45-50 grain bullets. Anyone done this before?

Consider Trailboss or 4895

Found a better solution than reduced AI loads.... I picked up a Ruger 77/22 K Hornet.

Now the playing starts... even considering cast boolits.

I have experimented a lot with reduced loads in 223, 22-250, 243 and a few others. In 223, 7g of Unique will yield about 2250 fps with 40g bullet. In 22-250, 9g of Unique for same velocity. In 243, I use 12g Red Dot with 55g bullet for same velocity. I love using these light loads for jack rabbits! They are quite with no recoil. Be careful and not put a double charge in a case !!!!!
