Has any one ever heard of this? does anybody have one? what would the possible velocities be with good handloads of 200 gr MK's out of a 26" barrel? I'm thinking of getting a Remington 700 police rebarreled to this, any information would be much appreciated.

Assuming all else is equal such as equally suitable powders etc. the 8mm/300 Win should be about 75 f/s faster than the 300 Win with equal bullet weights.

Take a look at the 8mm Rem Mag, very similar to the 8mm-300 Win, and load data, brass and dies should be somewhat easier to find.

That would be the 8mm PMM or 8mm/338. There are a couple of loads for it in P.O. Ackley vol 2 but not many. It shows a 186 grn bullet @ 2716 and a 225 @ 2800 fs. Obviously the 186 grn load is a light one. I would consider it a much better proportioned round than the 8mm RM and it should be VERY similar to a 338 WM in all respects.
