I'll be fireforming my match prepped Lapua Brass with 140gr SST's and A-max over some RL22 this week. I'll let you know of any initial impressions on the forming of the brass.

Mine has a 4 groove, 8 twist, 26" PacNor select match SS tube finished at .920", so that screwed to the blueprinted action should make interpreting the results very "load" oriented and not "equipment shortcomings" oriented.

Well,..not completed but here goes.

I was able to get 40 of the 50rnds fireformed yesterday with 140gr SST's and 140gr A-max's and RL22. I used parent data and know I was on the low side for this new case capacity, but being .010" into the lands helped for perfect shoulder forming.

The groups, when I could manage to keep my cheek weld constant while waiting on my eagle industries stock pack so that I can be more comfortable with the 56mm Nightforce sitting atop her, were impressive. I beleive that if I were to do my part, most would have been .5moa and some were approaching maybe the .3"s and .4"s.

I started with 45.0gr RL22 and worked around by .2gr up to 45.6gr's just for the forming process and to see how the fouling was.

I should be able to get working on the Ackely loads soon and will let you know as things develope.

OK, just a tidbit here, the 140gr a-max has a much greater BC than stated in the catalog. Closer to .625 or so judging on the high hit on the deer at 275yds with a 100yd zero. Back with more as the loads are worked.
