Yes.

No need to re-invent the wheel. The excellent German 9,3x70, a factory magnum cartridge, was there long before. See Harald Wolf's extensive article on this superb round in the Hatari Times website.

And if you want to true 9mm, there was the 9x63 (M/88), on a lengthened M/88 case (a later uninspired copy of which the Americans know as .35 Whelen).

carcano, You seem to be our resident German arms expert; why the change from the J bullet to the s bullet? Why didn't they just stay at .318" diameter? Roger
