I saw on another forum that a Guy is looking for a 221 Fireball so he can turn it into a 17 MK IV.He already has a 223 that he wants to trade for one.The reason I ask is because a 221 is still for a .224 bullet and I would think that the 17 MK IV barrel bore would still be too small for the bore of a 221 Fireball. Thanks in advance

A 17 Mach IV is a 221 neck down to 17 Cal..It shoots a 25 grain bullet from 3,300 to 3,500 ft/sec. They are a lot of fun. Twyman

Ya but what good is a 221 Fireball barrel if the barrel bore is already too large.

Another thing just to confuse everyone. He is mainly interested in the 221 barrel to chamber into a 17 MK IV.

Is he looking for the barrel, or the XP100 that it's attached to? - Dan

He's probably going to re-barrel to .17 Mach IV. If he uses a .221 FireBall-chambered rifle as a basis, he won't have to do any magazine modifications. George
