Anyone ever heard of this thing? 7mm Wasp? Based on a shortened blown out 30-30. Aloha, Mark When the fear of death is no longer a concern----the Rules of War change!!

I reckon it'd be the 219 Donaldson Wasp necked up to 7mm. The 219 DW is 1.715" long and based on the .30-30 case.

maybe the 7mm Donaldson Wasp is the same as the 7mm US here is a quote from the E. Arthur Brown site: The 7mm US is also known as 7mm Ultimate Silhouette. Famous for winning World Championships in IHMSA handgun metallic silhouette competition. Originally chambered in the BF Ultimate Silhouette Pistol (for which it is named). 7mm US is actually the Bench Rest .219 Donaldson Wasp cartridge, necked up to 7mm. Our 7mm US Brass is made from brand new 30-30 Winchester brass... reformed and trimmed to 7mm US dimensions.

Thanks to both. I don`t know HOW the 219 Donaldson slipped by me but it did. Old age I guess. I think you guys are correct as the fired case I made is made by shoving the shoulder back a bit on a 30-30 case, cutting off about 1/4" and the trimming to 1.730. Fireforming makes the base to shoulder about 1.030 with a .340 neck. The shoulder diameter is .407. Capacity is about 32 grains of water so this is no Ferrari but might be fun. I haven`t tried to resize full power rounds yet but will soon. If I can get them sized well enough with 7 BR Rem dies I may play a bit. If not? Well that is why God made good cases like the 7X57. [Joke!] I still have BOXES of 7X57 Flanged brass [Norma] for my old Wesley Richards and that might be a bit different but I truly think I would opt for the wonderful 7MM Mauser. Hard to beat a good 7X57 in a nice older #1. Thank you guys for the help. Much appreciated. Aloha, Mark When the fear of death is no longer a concern----the Rules of War change!!
