bartsche, there is an article in this months Handloader that touches on this, apparently when they made the switch to smokeless powder there were some clearance issues causing jacket shedding, so they went to the larger bore. There is more detail in the article, and so far I've just had a chance to glance at it. If you don't get the magazine PM me, and I'll scan and send you a copy when I get the time. - Dan

Dan:

please DON'T send the copy. The article is junk. Just spreading more half-truths and misinformation. As to be expected from a degraded magazine like today's "Handloader".

If you want to help Bartsche, do him a favour, instead of misleading him. Send him the pertinent 8x57 pages of the article in RUAG/DNAG/RWS reloading handbook. There's more in it than can be found in any US publication.

Oh, but definitely so. Please be as kind as to send me your fax number (or postal mail address) as private message, and I shall try to send it tomorrow, if possible.

Best regards,
while I am now trying to live up to my braggadoccio ;-)
