Caribou -

Lazzeroni cases are made from scratch and are not based on any other case. In 338, I suggest you compare this round to the handloading data available for the 338 RUM before deciding to buy or build a Lazzeroni. The 338 RUM loves R25, and I have easily and safely duplicated Nosler's loads for 225 and 250 gr Partitions:

R25 98.0 grs 225 Par: 3227 fps
R25 91.0 grs 250 Par: 2990 fps

It's the age old question of how much the extra 100 to 150 fps is worth to you in going to the Lazzeroni.

Caribu

I was under the impression that the Lazzeroni cases were based on the 416 Rigby case. I believe they have the same specs.

Not quite the case although they do use the same size shell-holder. John Lazzeroni has always said he designed his cases from scratch.....a one time he had 3 different headsizes.
