I have a couple new 6.5 barrels coming to put on custom hunting rifles. I had thought all along I would go with 6.5/.284 and Lapua brass. But, I have another idea. Since Norma makes .270WSM brass (I wish Lapua did), it seems that I could easily neck the .270WSM to 6.5. BUT, I really hate neck-turning brass. I have read about donuts and thick neck brass when even necking down from .277 to .264. What are people's thoughts on this? Would I ever need to neck turn this brass if I only plan to shoot it 5-7 times per case? terry.berkhouse@umontana.edu

UM is my wifes old stomping grounds, she was in the Pharmacy program and now works in Great Falls. I have my shop in Fort Shaw, just west of Great Falls. Let me know if your interested in the 6.5 WSM reamer as I cover 1/2 the cost of reamers with my customers so they do not get stuck with the total reamer cost. Good Shooting!!! 50

Necking down from .277 to .264 just ain't gonna cause ANY neck thickness problems, period. If you are concerned, just have your smith polish out the neck in the chamber a tiny bit.
