I was looking at a Jeffery case, thinking about a .458" COL of 3.1" ala M70 or M48, and remembered someone was working on a 458 WSM in So OR, IIRC. By every way I can measure, the 3.1" version would hold a significantly greater powder charge than the 2.5" belted case. Wouldn't a 375 or 416 or 458 -cal that beat the Taylor or Winchester just be the beez neez? Make mine a 22" 416 shooting 370g North Forks at 2400 fps, express sights w/hooded front, a trim stock and heavy-duty recoil pad....
