Is it feasible to re-barrel a .177 to a .20? I have a chance to buy a quality .177 air rifle fairly cheap, but I have all the .177's that I need, and would like to know if it's feasible/practical to have a .20 barrel put on it. Proud member of : People Eating Tasty Animals

What kind of price tag if you don't mind my asking? I have an RWS52 in .177 and would prefer a .20 cal.

Check out his site, C A P Airgun research. He's a specialist in Webley Patriot, but does do work on other guns. He'll have to tell you his price, but the barrel is about $135 from Walther (that's with all shipping charges and so on) and then it's about $100 or so for labor, but don't quote me on this. I'm having him work on several guns, so he's cutting me a deal on the barrel replacement. Thanks gunsmoke, that does give me a ballpark idea of cost. Heck of a collection you have. You listed the Blue Streak as a Benjamin. I know that Benjamin and Sheridan did merge. All the Blue and Silver Streaks I have seen were Sheridan. Are they now making Benjamin Streaks? BTW my old Sheridan Blue Streak with a peep sight is my go to gun and really my favorite.

I really don't shoot the RWS 48 anymore, and have a BSA 3x12x44AO on it, original sights removed and a muzzle weight in place of the front sight. It's about 98%, slight rust and scratches on stock. I'm not sure they even make the 48 in .20 anymore. Would you be interested? Proud member of : People Eating Tasty Animals

Gunsmoke--My airgunning is limited to my back yard. I have purple martin houses, thus a lot of sparrows and starlings. Those are mostly my targets. If I'm going somewhere else to shoot, I use my centerfires. I do use my RWS 52 some. I have a Leupold compact scope 3x-9x with EFR (extended focus range--will focus down to close range) on it. Truth is at backyard distances my old Sheridan Blue Streak with a peep sight is about as accurate. Being much lighter, I use it more than the RWS. So a RWS 48 would not get enough use to justify buying it. Same same with a Ruger .204 in centerfire--I'd like one, but already having several .22 centerfires just can't justify getting one.
