i have an RWS 34 IN .177 and am interested in something with more punch. noise is unimportant- i just want max velocity with decent accuracy and i don't want a PCP rifle( no place locally to fill the tank and i don't want the hassle anyway). it will be used to kill rabbits and squirrels and the frequent feral cats (they damn near outnumber the other critters) around my ranch. any recommendations?

If you like your RWS just get one in .22, or there are some real nice guns if you want something different.

Air Arms TX 200 is well good, or the "Pro Sport"

Any of the Weirauch guns.
The HW 80 is still hard to beat.

I'd consider the 5mm (.20 cal)to me they are the best of both between the .22 and .177.

Jerry,

I have the same rifle as you in a .22 caliber. I like it, it does have more knock-down power.

Took about 1,000-1,500 pellets to settle in from an accuracy stand-point. Nnow I can hit a rabbit sized target at 65 yards. Doesn't have a lot of punch at that distance though. Birds at 20-25 are no problem at all!

Hope all is well with you. My big cancer "scoping" is at 2 pm today. Anxious.

Best wishes,
Jerry Meyers
