I have a Beeman R9 and would like to put a scope on it. Which of the scope mounts work the best? I dont want it shifting with recoil. Also are the Leaper(SP)scopes any count? What scope would work on a R9 due to the reverse recoil? Swede --------------------------------------------------------- NRA Life Member

Swede---When I mounted a scope on my RWS 52 I did not have enough adjustment in the scope to zero it in. The airsmith at Airguns Express called the shot--he told me which direction I'd be off and I needed an adjustable mount. I went with the RWS mount and problem solved. I tried several different scopes to include standard Leupolds in 2x-7x and 3x-9x. I finally bought the compact Leupold in 3x-9x with EFR and all problems solved. Pricey but worth it. Why buy a Mercedes and put a VW engine in it?

I would try some thing like this http://www.pyramydair.com/s/a/...ops_Scope_Shift/2298 I found the RWS mount difficult to use compared to this. The RWS mounts were from the late 90's so they may have improved.

Swede I didn't find a model number on the scope. You could call 1 800 Leupold and perhaps get it. This scope is currently around $400. A few yrs ago when they were around $307, I watched closely and never saw one go for less than $275 on EBAY. This included much older scopes that the owner originally paid less than $275. Because they held their value so well I considered them a $32 scope as I could buy one for $307 and always get atleast $275. I can read a business card from across the yard with it and despite the fact it says airgun, you could use this on a heavy recoiling magnum centerfire rifle. The scope would take it and if not--it would be a Leupold problem they would fix. Just make sure it says EFR (extended focus range) otherwise it doesn't focus at airgun range.
