Has anybody used the Bushnell airgun scope on a springer? I have a RWS 34 with medium recoil, will it stand up to that?

Here's some info ... http://www.beeman.com/scopes.htm Guess your gun is .22? I find the .177s are the worst for scope eating. They need more spring energy to get the same power as a .22. "When doing battle, seek a quick victory."

Thanks for the link, that answered my question! I think I will send it back before mounting it and busting another scope. The BSA airgun scope won't hold up either, won't hold zero from one day to the next. Maybe I'll try Leapers, supposedly they will hold up to the recoil.

Ya but also you need one that's easy to refocus the objective lens. Or a scope with an adjustable parallax. Leupold can be quite well glued together, so with a fixed Leupold rifle scope, setting the parallax to airgun ranges can be a bugger. They make nice airgun scopes ... http://www.leupold.com/hunting-and-shooting/products/sc...33mm-ultralight-efr/ "When doing battle, seek a quick victory."

Nmason-----Been there done that. Much experience with Bushnell--NONE favorable--product nor service---except there is a Bushnell Customer Service rep named Leslie(not sure if male or female)if you contact Leslie service was much better. But you'll still be out shipping costs to them and this in itself was enough to make me decide to get rid of Bushnell stuff and keep it that way. Then I tried Leupold---even their 2x-7x compact as Specialist said is set for 50 yards and that makes it about useless for air rifle. Then I made my wallet groan and bought the Leupold compact 3x-9x with EFR (extended focus range) has adjustable objective and will focus down to 10 meters. Problems solved. Great scope and crystal clear can be used on air rifles and would be at home on a magnum centerfire. At the time this scope was $307 from one dealer. On EBAY this scope ALWAYS brought minimum of $275---even older ones that didnt cost $275 when they bought them--some brought $290. Considering you could always get $275 back--this made it a $32 scope. Several people that don't post here anymore did buy that scope and all had great results to post.

I have a Bushnell on a Model 48(20 cal.) and Tasco on a 52 (.177) and they both are doing fine. Get the RWS C. mount and try it. Just plain bases and rings will not work. Good luck, Bruce

Thanks BJB, that might be my whole problem. I have been using a two piece mount instead of RWS one piece.

nmason, I learned the hard way also by shaking the guts out of scopes. Since the C mount, no problems. Good luck. Bruce

what is this c- mount you are talking of? i have used a daisy powerline scope on my rws 34 for two summers and it seems to be holding up ok. it probably has lasted 2000rounds or so...

It is the scope mount made by RWS specifically for their springer air-rifles, http://www.airgundepot.com/rws-c-mount.html Little pricey but it seems to work. Good luck, Bruce

oh ok i have seen that mount.. what makes it better than just rings?? is there some kind of shock absorbing system in it?? thanks for the pic.. JJB

Not recoil absorbing but it has a pin that seats in a hole in the action and limits forward and rearward movement. BJB

I've got two highpower springers and they both have the RWC C mount system. I tried others and this one worked best for me. One thing that wasn't mentioned for the C-Mount was the "gimble" rings. It pretty much eliminates stress of out of aligned rings. Takes a while to set up, but I have not killed a scope since getting this mounting system. Joe
