Does anyone have experience with this heavy .177 pellet?

I have been using the Beeman Kodiak 10.2 grain domed pellet out to 40 yards on the local feral chickens.

They kill the hens fairly well but the "roosta's" travel 70-100 feet before dying or slowing down where I can stomp on them or shoot them again.

The hens are down within 30 feet or less and dead.

Ive seen some target weight bullets used on hens at the local land fill and they hit the hens about as hard (or weak) as the heavy Kodiaks do the roosters, so I am convinced the SD of the heavier pellets is worthwhile.

I am using an RWS 34 with iron sights.

Very reliable adjustment for windage and elevation w the iron sights. Great trigger. Louder than Id like.

Am hoping the pointed bullet may penetrate the side wing of the roosters better than domed? Does not have to be super accurate as they are a large target.

PS I am curious why the domed or RN pellets are listed on the H&N tins as having more range than the pointed? Accuracy I can understand, but am surprised by range. Also the domed and RN are also listed for rats. the pointed only for crows.
