I am an old shooter and caster. I am new to Air Rifles. A friend pointed me to a great deal on a PCP Air Rifle. I tried to order a .35 cal and in the confusion of trying multiple links he sent me I ended up paying for a .22 M25 Defender. I selected UPS delivery and the tracking number is invalid on UPS because they shipped it USPS. Tracking says deliver today, but last seen in LA and hasn't reached Missouri yet! He said it would be awesome with a 40 gr bullet. I managed to buy a 30 gr mould 22 pellet mould. I haven't ordered a pump to air it up yet. I think this will be a lot different than an El Cheapo Springer Air Rifle. I intend to hunt squirrels with it. The squirrels probably need to worry, but only about the health of their unborn grandchildren!

You need to buy a box of every available pellets. Try them. Some will shoot well, others might shoot like a shotgun round.

I have quite a few of the more normal 22 pellets to try. I need to put sights on it. I am thinking of take-off iron sights I bought online. I do need reader glasses to see them clearly, but it will be relatively close. That will give me something to play with while I decide what optics to try. I really do want to try my own cast pellets, both coated and as cast to see what I can do. I even have a pellet trap somewhere and steel targets.
