I'm wanting a new toy to help me with the armadillo problem I'm having.
I shot 1 the other nite at 11p.m. with my Judge, then set & waited on the swat team to arrive, thankfully none of my neighbors called in on me.
I had a Benj. silver streak spring loaded, but could never shoot it accurately so I gave it to my son.
Now with the nitro piston offering, I see another oportunity.
Not wanting to spend BIG BUCKS, so the Benj. looks pretty good.
What are ya'lls thoughts on it?

the 1500(.177) is too light for armadillo. the 1500fps speed is with VERY light alloy pellets which won't hit hard enough for an armadillo and are wildly inaccurate. think about the NPXL 1100(.22). hits much harder( although again the 1100fps is with alloy pellets and is really pie in the sky bullshit). my NPXL 1100 actually chronied about 750-800 fps with 14gr Crossman pellets, which is about as light a pellet as you would want to use for the stated purpose. it was reasonably accurate( about 3/4 inches at 25-30 yards). the trigger is pure shit but an after market drop in unit is about $35 and installs in 10 minutes. for sure- FORGET THE npxl 1500!

No experience with the NPXL but lots with the Sheridan Streaks. Depending on the age of the Silver Streak, it was either drilled and tapped for a peep sight--or it wasn't. If it wasn't, it's pretty easy for a gunsmith or even a person with some skill could do it themself. If D&t there will be a cover on right side of receiver( there is a cover on left side--but that's not it---one on left is for bolt removal) Mine were all the older ones and required D&T. An acquaintance told me on his newer one, he could see the pellet even after 8 pumps. I can't see them at 4 pumps--don't know if older ones more powerful or not. With peep sight I find them very accurate. They are .20 cal (5mm) and to me that size is the best of both between the .22's and .177. Where do you live that you get armadillos?

Next door in La.
Seems ya'll shipped a bunch of them across the Red River many years ago.
I'm trying to figure out how to send ya'll some mosquitos the size of house flys to get even.
