It's a nice gun, but some people don't get on with them very well. Lots of specific info on the gun here or elsewhere. Is the scuba tank the same age as the gun? They need testing every so often, probably costs near $100. there. They are only around $500 new so it doesn't seem particularly cheap. I'd offer a bit less and see. scuba tank is 1 year old. i priced out the the tank, connector hose and yoke, scope, 7 pellet tins, laser, and bipod- grand total over $400 PLUS shipping. gun runs about $535 new. i figure it will cost the seller at least $100 shipping(mainly because of the tank),so i am essentially paying $650 for the equipment and $100 shipping. still haven't decided for sure- trying hard to convince myself i need another rifle. Those AirForce Air Rifles sure are something special. After you all talked so highly about them, I got to checking them out. Even looked into the cost of Scuba Tanks with $5 refills, 20oz CO2 Tanks with $5 refills, pumping them up , and all the accessories. I can see where a person would be very happy with one of them. Best of luck with your new one.

Don't bother with CO2, just dry Dive shop air is way better than CO2. Pure Nitrogen is probably a bit better than air actually, as it's a bit less temperature sensitive, but is way more expensive and you need to do more lubing as it's so dry. Just air is fine, with the amount if pressure in these guns temperature hardly makes much difference with air. You usually want a big 12L 300 bar bottle. Carbon fiber "Fireman" bottles are quite a bit lighter, if you need more shots in the field than one fill get a second gun bottle. Even the small 3L divers bottles are a bit much to carry for long. Don't forget ... NO Flammable OIL products when using Hi pressure air it will blow up. I had a fool lube his bottle seal with gun oil the other day, we're sitting in the dark totally quiet, waiting for Rabbits, when he screws his spare bottle on his gun. The dick has put Express gun oil on the bottle end, instead of Silicon. KABAMMMM like a bloody hand grenade going off I nearly had a heart attack. Lucky the gun has a deep fitting so no crap hit his face, but it did blast his hand a bit. I hope it hurts a lot. "When doing battle, seek a quick victory."

I haven't seen any "Pellgun Oil" in 25 years. Couldn't say, if it doesn't cause dieseling in a springer it should be ok. But I stick to pure liquid silicone and silicone grease. "When doing battle, seek a quick victory."

Hey Specialist, Help me out on understanding about the CO2. From the AirForce site(I think that is where it was) it said with the 20oz CO2 bottle you could get about 1000 shots without having to stop and refill the rifle. I realize the Velocity is reduced, but as long as it is consistent and you are not Hunting with CO2, it looks like a great way to get a bunch of shooting in without having to refill. With the Scuba Tank refills, the Shop I went to said they only fill them to 3000psi. And since the Air Force rifle is designed to operate at 3000psi, it seems like after a few Scuba Tank refills that you will only be able to get the rifle up to 2200-2500psi, without refilling the Scuba Tank. And the Air Force site led me to believe once the Condor is topped off with Air(at 3000psi), you can adjust the rifle for about 30-75 shots(depending on the velocity you set the rifle for) before you need to refill the rifle. The Scuba Tank was $218 where I went and if you only got 5 good refills out of it, that would make 150-375 shots per Scuba Tank, or if 8 good refills 240-600 shots per Scuba Tank. The 20oz CO2 tank was $30 at the Paint Ball Shop where I went and that Shop has a reputation for being way over priced for the majority of their stuff. So, I'll guess(which could be Full-of-Beans) that you could probably get a 20oz CO2 Tank for $22 or 10% of the cost of a Scuba Tank. So, when I look at the available options - Scuba Air and CO2 - the CO2 looks to be quite a bargain for a guy that wants to shoot a lot. What am I missing???

For plinking CO2 is fine. It's too temperature sensitive for targets or hunting. If you zero in the afternoon then go out at night you'll find you need to re-zero or try adjust for it. After a few fast shots the bottle gets cold and has quite a bit less pressure, same as the CO2 pistols that use soda siphon bulbs. You should really get a 300 bar divers bottle, that's 15 lbs (or one atmosphere) x 300 so 4500 lbs pressure in a full bottle. Old divers bottles are only 232 bar, the newer 300 bar bottles have different fittings. Most over here use 12 liter 300 bar bottles, I use a 5.7 Liter 300 bar carbon fiber bottle, the dive shop is close and it's a LOT lighter than a big steel one. The Talon being single shot, even if you shoot a lot a 12L 300bar bottle won't need filling often. I just found an almost new Talon for a friend, I was well impressed with the improvements they have made recently. The trigger is much better and the gun just feels better made and nicer to use than older ones. "When doing battle, seek a quick victory."

Thank you. I understand about the CO2 now. I've noticed Propane go through that same cooling cycle you mentioned. The Dive Shop I stopped at only pressurizes tanks to 3000psi. I did not look any farther than it. Perhaps another one around here puts more in them. Thanks again.

A dive shop compressor and water filter system is one SERIOUSLY expensive bit of gear. For them to upgrade to fill to 300bar needs a lot of local demand. Try asking at your local Fire station as well. I know some out in the country here that will fill your tank for a small donation to their favorite charity. There is not much to rust in a Talon, so you don't need to be quite so paranoid about absolute dry air and they are so simple to strip and clean you could do that more often than with a more complex gun.
