Hello All, I am thinking about moving into the PCP world. There seems to be more ways to skin a cat so to speak with these rifles. What mistakes or things you would do different when first getting set up? Hand pumps or SCUBA tank, how many refills per tank, etc. Anything should I pass on or must have?

forget the hand pump. a good one(Hill, Axxor) will cost much more than a scuba tank- assuming you have a shop nearby to fill it. if you shoot much at all, you will spend countless hours pumping instead of shooting( not to mention the effort involved). as far as the rest of the needed info, a lot depends on the gun you buy. some fill to 2500 psi giving a lot of fills from a 3000psi tank overfilled to 3300psi( which most scuba shops will do). other guns fill to 3450psi which basically give you no fills from a 3300psi tank. general recommendation would be a Benjamin Marauder as a starter with a used scuba tank. you will get about 300 or more shots before the scuba tank need to be refilled and spend about $650 all in. if money isn't a big factor, move up to an FX, Daystate, Theoben Rapid Mark 2 but since they fill to a highe5 pressure you get fewer shots from a 3000psi overfilled tank. if you are sreiously considering going to a PCP gun, drop me a PM and i can perhaps give you a lot more advice learned the hard way. presently i have 5 Daystates, 3 scba( firemens bottle) tanks and my own compressor.
