Does anyone have recommendations for an electric pump for PCP air rifle cannisters. I am worn out with the bi-cycle pump.

Am willing to make the investment, looking for advice, sources.

Thanks--Don

Ditto on the Scba tank, I have one of the 88cu/ft 4500psi tanks and am very happy with it. BUT I live 15 min from a dive shop that fills to 4500psi. Can you get a tank filled locally?. My big bore will empty (<3000psi) it in 40 shots, small bores will go months before it is below 3000psi . My local shop charges $9 to top off my 4500 tank.

Keep in mind that a tank is "empty" when you reach the minimum pressure that the rifle will shoot at so a 3000psi scuba tank may not last for many fills depending on your rifle

Next step up are the FX electric compressor, a hand pump powered by an electric motor in an water cooling bath and the Air Venturi/EZ-Air compressor (look to be the same pump, different names, different dealers). These are ment to fill a rifle not a scba tank and will make 3000psi. Not inexpensive at $1800 but not as much as a scuba tank compressor

Then there are the full blown scuba compressors. These are ment to fill tanks and will pump to 5000psi in some cases. This is what the dive or paintball shop will use to fill your tank. Alkin and Bauer build compressors that are smaller 5000psi @ 3.5cu/ft min both electric and gas powered. Don't execpt to find a new one for under $2800 and they may be more then that now. Search scuba compressors there are more companies out there

You may find a deal on a used one but they dont seem to be all that much cheaper from what I have seen so far.

Check with the local fire dept. They use HPA tanks for breathing air and may direct you to a tank filler or often have their own compressors.

The RWS or FX are crap.
Just a hand pump with a motor attached.

You also need a serious water filter for a compressor or your gun will be full of water.

A good dive shop is the best option, or you can use Nitrogen, but most mfg don't recommend it.
