Forget CO2, unless it's just for plinking.
For hunting and targets, check out Weihrauch guns. They are good quality guns at reasonable cost.
I guess any imports will be expensive, are there any local manufactures?
Also don't discount used guns, lots of people spend a Sh*t load of cash on an airgun then never really peruse it.

Had a buddy in Califoney tell me he had sold an RWS which he had and only shot "maybe" 50 times a few weeks ago. He said it had a fine trigger and was very accurate. For some reason he kept the Pellets and sold the rifle for $250. He used it so little that he didn't even remember the Model Number.

I'm a real novice in Air Rifles. I have a Sheridan Blue Streak and a break-barrel Springer. The Springer had a horrible trigger, but fortunately Charlie Da Tuna offered an After market replacement which has turned this one into a pleasure to shoot.

I still have visions of a Nitro Piston ending up in my group. It is just a matter of time. And Charlie offers a Trigger for them too. But, I've no first-hand experience with one of them - yet! Wink

Best of luck in your selection.

I got my Gamo Whisper off Cabela's for $199 and it was the deluxe version, came with ammo and a half-way decent scope. My dad has been knocking the piss out of the crows around his house with it. He put it on the chrono with the PBA ammo and it shot 1127fps average. with the heavier slower ammo we got 900fps and it was literally whisper quiet, was able to shoot several crows off the same branch before they ever flew away.

My Gamo was on sale big time in there Bargin Cave section. Got it right after new years and it was at my father front door within a week with plenty of ammo.
