I am going to buy Weihrauch 97k rifle with Weihrauch 3-9x42 scope with paralax adjustment. I know it is not the most powerfull rifle, but I prefer quality and accuracy (not interested in gamo, hatsan or so).

What is your opinion about this rifle?

I know the best ammo for it for target, but what pellets for hunting (4.5mm) ?

I have owned a blue laminate hw97 for a few years now and am very happy with it.I added a maccari kit and venom seal to make it even smoother and more accurate.

Thank you guys

Like to hear that it is good choice. I am also looking for tuning kit (by V-mach custom rifles).

What is the best pellet for field shooting for this rifle?

So I bought this rifle (FAC version) in December. Since this, I have shot down over 60 pigeons, a lot of turtle-doves and other varmints. About month ago, I installed V-mach custom tuning kit (lazaglide). It is amazing air rifle. It likes heavier pellets, such as JSB Exact Heavy. It shoots one hole at 10m with JSB Exact or JSB Exact heavy, but it doesn't like target pellets (flat head style). I bought some kinds of target pellets (also another style pellets), which I found useless and I use them in other air rifles.

Pellet observation:

JSB Exact - best all around pellet for my HW97K, the best short range (20-30m) accuracy, medium wind sensitive

JSB Exact Heavy - a little less accurate at short distances than JSB Exact, but unbeatable at longer distances (50-70m), least wind sensitive. Also the "smoothest" shooting (I belive that spring goes a little slower due to higher weight of pellet)

RWS Super H-point - low weight hollow point bullet, best hunting results (it is good killer), but limited to 15-20m distance, wind sensitive and also firing is not smooth and you can hear something like "transsonic blast"

Target pellets (JSB Diabolo Match, HN Sport Match, etc.) . . . no group, just pattern, limited to 10m distance, also shoots few cm to right out of the group by JSB Exact or Exact Heavy, in the field, very very wind sensitive

Sorry for bad photos quality

Report:

Over 200 pigeons killed, now it is shooting better than before, one hole at 10m (break-in effect or so), but as any spring gun, sensitive to holding style . . . If there is no wind, it is not problem to hit and kill pigeon at 70m distance with heavy pellet.
