Just received the FX Panthera.

Supposed to be very powerful, and very accurate.

Has several adjustments as to power, and hopefully accuracy.

I will test it and post my results here.

I have tried adjusting it, but ended up with worse results.

So went back o factory settings, and these are the results.

Very good rifle.

Only one I have come across that has a proper magazine, of the right size, that fits all available pellets.

Many rifles come with very narrow magazines, the heavier pellets would not fit in them.

What is even worse, the magazine well is so narrow, it is very hard to load pellets singly if one wished to do so.

Not on this one.

Well done FX for this design improvement.

Looks a lot more complicated that anything I would shoot. Looks pretty specialized. Give me a Daisy Red Ryder BB gun LOL Looking forward for your test results.

Practically all PCP rifles are now made to look like this.

They have gone to the military look.

But, they do shoot extremely well, and very powerful.

I have gathered a few pellets of different weights, and will shoot them at factory settings, then try to alter things and see what difference it makes.

Funny shooting air rifles.

After shooting the Olympic Match rifles at 10 meters and getting groups difficult to measure, now some of the groups from this rifle look like shot through a shotgun!

As you can see, some pellets are totally useless!

My suggestion is when you buy a rifle, please gather all the pellets you can find, to see which ones are good in it.

I bought my Panthera after shooting my friends.
I think you can clean up some of those groups with some tuning. PCP don’t seem to be a load and shoot like a 22RF sorting ammo.
My buddy is from SA, and has played with a fair number of PCP rigs. I let him tune, I am still in the learning/understanding stage of these rigs.
None the less I am very impressed with the Panthera .22 out to 200 meters. As good if not better than most .22 RF rigs I have played with. A good day and conditions we shot some 3” 5 shot groups @200m last summer. Proto type slugs.
Have not been around much, saw the air rifle thread, made me grin.

Pellets in general achieve best accuracy around sub 900 ft/sec. A few designs may do good up to 950 ft/sec but from here precision deteriate.

You might wanna take a look at the new FX Leopard. I have ordered one..:-)

The problem with accuracy at higher speeds isn’t in going supersonic, but when the pellet then slows down again to trans sonic speeds the skirt makes them lose stability. Shooting slugs out of these precision PCPs eliminates that problem.
