sold a couple of firearms last week and rolled the money into a new air rifle. ordered a Daystate Mark4iS and a Hawke 4-16X50(30mm) side focus scope to top it. this will be my second electronic air rifle( also have a Daystate Air Wolf). if it is as good a gun as the Air Wolf, i will be VERY pleased. more to follow.

Congrats on the Mark4iS. That's at the top of the heap !

I've been recycling powder burners as well.

Recently picked up a Daystate myself. This
Huntsman XL. Very sweet handling and shooting
rifle.

i started looking in my gun cabinet about a month ago and realized i had a bunch of long guns and pistols i haven't shot in 10-15 years. since i got into airgunning( again) about 18 months ago, i also realized that i can shoot them around the property( i have 36 acres out in the country) and make very little noise and still have a lot of fun. the pigeons, starlings, sparrows, and ground squirrels aren't so thrilled. so now i am selling all the little used powder burners and rolling the money into air guns( so far i have sold every firearm for more than i paid for it- sometimes inflation and subsequent price rises are your friend). looked long and hard at the Huntsman XL before buying the Mark4 but in the last few days i have sold 2 more firearms and have another $1750 to spend- and a Huntsman XL or a new Theoben Rapid Mark 2 OR Model S have caught my eye. DECISIONS, DECISIONS!!!!! will post some picture of the scoped Mark 4 when i get it set up.

received the Mark4 yesterday. mounted a Hawke Sidewinder 4-16x50 and away we go!. ran 200 pellets through it yesterday and 250 today( that's one of the nice things about air guns- no recoil so extended shooting sessions aren't a problem and total pellet cost was under $9 for 450 shots). at 25 yards, all pellets are through the same hole. tomorrow, will move the target back to 50 yards but obviously the groups aren't going to open up much. THIS THING IS A TACK DRIVER! plus i am getting 50 plus shots before POI changes at all. the local ground squirrels are in deep do-do.

I've never heard of a Daystate that didn't shoot aces and it sounds like yours is not going to change that reputation.

Let's see some 50 yard groups and some pics of that gun ! Sounds like a great rig. I would like to hear about that scope too.

good shooting, Chris

as requested( please excuse the poor quality).

trio of Daystates: Mark4, Air Wolf MCT, and Air Ranger80.

i have a custom made reflex style silencer in transit now for the Mark4. it is 7 inches long but slips 3 1/2 inches over the shrouded barrel, so overall length only increases by 3 1/2 inches. in the mean time, i take the silencer off the Air Ranger and just screw in on the Mark4. with the shrouded barrel it was already pretty quiet but with the AR silencer it is mouse fart quiet- and hopefully will still be with the new silencer installed. BTW, if anyone is interested in air rifle silencers, all custom made one at a time to your specs, PM me. the guy who made mine is a real old world English craftsman who does it as a hobby, guarantees satisfaction or he makes you another one free, and charges less than $125 including shipping. we corresponded via email and phone calls for 3 days until he was satisfied that he knew exactly what i wanted size and appearance wise, then he put metal to lathe and made it in 1 1/2 days. he originally was charging me $120 and i wanted a 1 1/2 diameter silencer with internal baffles. right before he started work i changed my mind and went with a 1 1/4 tube with baffles. no problem and the next day it was shipped(Thursday). that night i received a tracking number-AND A $20 REFUND FOR GOING WITH THE SMALLER TUBE, EVEN THOUGH IT WAS MY UNDERSTANDING THAT BOTH SIZES WERE THE SAME PRICE! YOU RARELY FIND SKILLED CRAFTSMAN LIKE THAT ANYMORE AND HE MADE IT PLAIN THAT IF I WASN'T SATISFIED WITH THE AMOUNT OF NOISE REDUCTION, JUST SEND IT BACK AND HE WOULD MAKE THE LARGER ONE FREE. i have seen examples of his work before, although my other 2 silencers are factory made- needless to say his stuff is first rate and you even pick the finish you want( flat black, shiny black, crinkled, etc) as well as exact size and type of barrel connection.
1 additional note: i imagine this will complete my air rifle collection as i now have a wide range of power on tap. the mark 4 has 2 settings( approx. 30fpe and 20fpe) the Air Wolf has 2( 40fpe and 30fpe) and the Air Ranger is a fixed 60fpe. depending on my intended target size and expected distances, i just choose what's appropriate for the job. sparrows to coyotes, makes no difference.
