Gerard, I am convinced that M98 is the BEST on the market. I have tried most Bore Cleaners but not one is as effective as M98. What I like most is that it does not contain Ammonia. I run a patch soaked with Ballistol through the barrel before packing the rifle away. WELL DONE!!!!

Thanks lal, it is one of those products that came about by accident, because I am inherently lazy and wanted to make life easier for myself. It got out of hand from there. Smiler

I Agree!!! received mine a week ago, after a thorough cleaning with Butches's & Foresters foam my barrels were squeaky "clean". Then I run a whet patch with M98 through it and let it sit for 20 minutes - What a blue mess came out of both the barrels that a "cleaned" before. 2 cycles as prescribed and now they are clean!!!!

Tried some Butches after and they were as clean as the day I got them!!!

Thanks Gerard I won't easily be convinced that there is anything better on the market today!

Cheers
Johan

ps. I'm not yet convinced on those light for calibre mono's of yours! Would give them a try at some stage though!

Probably used it all over the last 65 or more years..I liked an old bench resters mix of a quart jar of comm. Amonia and a cup of Hydrogen Peroxide, and still do for a really bad fouled rifle...

But today I mostly use WIPE OUT to get a bore squeeky clean and for storage, followed by WD 40 or whatever..I like the bore snakes for everyday cleaning as I'm convienced its easy to over clean and damage gun barrels with a rod..

My practice is clean a gun real good about two or three times a year, and use the bore snakes with whatever oil or cleaner, after every shooting session, about 3 to 5 passes works for me.
