I recently inherited a Remington 7400 autoloading rifle and am wondering if anyone makes some sort of flexable cleaning rod that would allow me to clean this gun from chamber to muzzle instead of the other way around?

Boresnakes are very good...I always use them during hunting season. They do an excellent job..Remember a bore does not need to be squeeky clean, that in fact is counter productive to most barrels..More barrels have been ruined with a cleaning rod than by shooting and thats a fact.. A company called Rapid Rod makes a cleaning rod that you can put in a holster (furnished) about the size of a pocket knife and carry on our belt...The Rapid Rod is a series fo 4" rod with a small cable running through them and you snap it out and screw the handle until they come together tight and presto you have a cleaning rod...Great for emergency cleaning, and pushing snow and mud out of your barrel. Take a piece of weed whacker line, heat one end and mash it down to make a button, cut the other end of it at a steep angle. Use with regular patches. These are cheap and easy to make for your friends who like them as well as you will.

The most underthought emergency while hunting. The dreaded barrel plug! That's why I put a piece of cheap black electrical tape over the end of my barrel while hunting (the kind you would find at Harbor Freight). It does not alter accuracy (I tested it on three rifles, no difference) and it does not cause enough restriction to change pressure. Just keeps the crap out of your barrel. Great idea BTW! Never thought of that before, thanks!
