For those of you who hate having to clean M1/M14 op rods, FAL gas pistons or the crud off the cylinder face of your stainless revolvers, there is an easy way to do it. CLP and Lime Away are two I use to remove the carbon fouling very quickly with no harm to the metal. I have used these for a long time with no ill results.
Very dirty op-rods may need a short soak, most clean up with a rag in just a few minutes. Hope this helps, Russ Green.
