Having been a Shooter's Choice then Kroil guy for years, owing to threads we've participated in over a couple years now... Yesterday I cleaned seven guns as follows. [Note: these have all been taken down to clean bore previously using Gunslick "WipeOut", J-B, BoreTech, scrubbing throat area until bullets no longer bind, SC to be sure-sure, etc.] 1. Large plastic pistol brush with BoreTech scrubbing at throat, followed by 2. Bore mop wet with BoreTech to soak throat area more, followed by 3. Chamber tool / short rod with a dry mop covered with large patch wet with Kroil to clean up chamber/throat excess. 4. Insertion of bore guide and rod with plastic brush (sized to caliber in use), then 10 strokes with BoreTech. 5. Patch out with Kroil (2 wet), then 10 strokes with Kroil and bronze brush. 6. Repeat step 5 and patch out dry. No smell to speak of in the garbage can, discarded wet mop ( used many times before) and all this in maybe half the time!! Of course, now I know to follow with oil since Kroil isn't enough. Ready for safari! BNagel _______________________ | ||
