Do not use OSPHO (an acid that neutrolizes and removes rust)on a blued rifle.

I had a couple little specks of surface rust after shooting in a light mist. Eureka! I've got just the stuff to clean that up. I left it for about 10 seconds and wiped off some blueing with it.

The good news is the barrel is shot out and I already planned on replacing it anyway.

I once use Birchwood Casey Cleaner Degreaser and spilled some on the side of a Winchester M94XTR receiver that had a very deep black blueing.
This chemical lifted/lightened the blueing colour at that spot forever.

We Americans were tired of being thought of as dumb, by the rest of the world. So we went to the polls in November 2008 and removed all doubt.....let's not do it again in 2012 please.
