Just bought a target rifle and had 3800 rounds through it Exclusively it shot moly coated Norma black diamond What is the favourite cleaning method for a barrel with this kind of history Initial scrub with nylon brush and patches gives the impression of increase friction Is this normal ? If I don't shoot molys from this point onwards is that not advisable ? Thanks | ||

I used Moly bullets in my 1000 Yard any/any, and Palma rifle and in my A15 service rifle. I just cleaned them in the normal way after each match. Never had any issues. The advantages of Moly for me was longer barrel life [reference the Norma factory tests], being able to shoot a whole match without cleaning, or any fouling issues, and I disovered that because the bullets were less marked by the rifling they were pushed less up and down by cross winds. ie the bullets did not climb up and down the wind near as much when moly coated...
