What do you guys do for lubing the choke tubes on your removable choke shotguns? I shoot very rarely with my shotguns, only have a couple, but they can go a year in between sessions, I've not had an issue yet, but when I went quail hunting the other day, I changed chokes and the ones in the case (not in the barrels) had some pretty tacky residue on them, so I cleaned then thoroughly, and used a little liquid wrench as a lube since that was all that was available at the time, but what would be good for putting on them if they were gonna stay in the barrels for an extended period??

I use anti seize compound made by Permatex.

Briley has a good Moly grease that is designed for choke tubes. STOS also works well. It doesn't take very much and a small tub of grease will last a number of years even with frequent cleaning for a clay target shooter. I am still on the same small shot glass size tub of STOS that I have been using for more than a decade. ******************************************************* For every action, there is an equal and opposite malfunction.

STOS is a grease made by Posness and Warren originally for their reloaders. The initials stand for Slicker Than Owl Sh.... well you know! It is available at many gunshops. Most gun greases should work as a choke tube lubricant. They tend to stay put in the threads a little longer than oils. ******************************************************* For every action, there is an equal and opposite malfunction.
