I am thinking of getting some for my rifles. There is a nice video on the Shooter's choice web site, that tests FP-10 against two other popular oils.

I used FP 10 many years ago and I liked it...

However, I have so much Break Free... And I really like it too.

FP 10 is a good lube, for sure...

Break Free is better as a Cleaner, Lube, Protecter... Which is why they call it CLP.

I think it is an amazing lubricant. The stuff is slick even when it dries, non-toxic (smells like cinammon), and a little goes a long way. I prefer Break-Free on the outside as a protectant and FP10 on the inside as a lubricant.

Break Free CLP is the best general purpose lubricant, but FP 10 is THE thing for slicking up things, that means for TRIGGERS and Revolver actions!

For Auto moving parts I use thicker things, like RIG 7 or LSA or even grease.

I saw a corrosion test a couple of years ago using several lubricants and preservatives. Large pieces of carbon steel were wet down with salt water and left standing. The absolute worst among them was FP-10, which, until that time, I had been using for three or four years. Among the best was Break Free, which I now use on everything.

But don't use it on a Dillon progressive press. It ruins it.

What would you use on a press? I have found some lubes on the Rock Chucker's action just gum it up. Rem oil seems to work so far.

And yes, I will stick with CLP for general gun cleaning and lube...not because it's so great (it's darn good), but because the gallon of it that I have will last a damn long time.

Another product that would be good for all of you to try is Prolix.

It cleans, lubricates and preserves, like Break Free, but it dries and leaves a lubricant behind.

It does not gum up and once dry does not attract dust or dirt.

I have also discovered, that if it is the last "juce" you put in your barrel, and dry the chamber and bore out it does not effect the first round out.

Prolix Xtra T Lube is a light runny grease that works great as well.

Been using FP-10 for at least 10/12 years now on my firearms along with CLP on occasion that still use from force of 40 yr old habit.
I like it. It seems to lube very well, no rust to date (I don`t soak my guns in salt water and leave them) and smells good to boot....

I use FP 10 on all my competition guns and semi autos. The stuff works very well and a bottle of it will last darn near forever. It's all we have ever run in our Paras that we have been shooting. So far so good.

I use Ballistol quite a bt as well. Especially if I know I am going to be in the rain.

It is supposed to still lube good even if it is soaking wet.

I like the smell of it too.

I was contacted by the company and told that the gallon format is not yet available to Canadians-something to do with language and approving,etc..The stuff costs too expensive in the small bottles.

I use Breakfree as a lube on almost all my presses w/o a problem, but can't remember what I last used on my Dillon.

Could you elaborate on your statement?

I use Breakfree for rust proofing and cleaning/wiping metal parts. I use FP-10 everywhere I need lubrication. FP-10 is the only lube I use with stainless actions, especially stainless slides on pistols.

Dillon specifically recommends Break Free NOT be used on their presses in the manual. If course, I missed that part and used it on my 650.. It was super slick for about thirty rounds and then almost seized.
They recommend straight 30 weight motor oil for a press lubricant. I'd stick with that. Took me forever to free it up so it would function smoothly.

I live in Florida. We are, as you may be aware surrounded by salt water. Therefore, we have a high salt content in the air. It behooves Florida gun owners to use lubricants which prevent salt corrosion.
